Overview

About Assemblies

SAMS Assemblies are member-led, specialty-focused platforms that serve as the primary technical advisory bodies supporting SAMS’ programs. Each Assembly brings together members with shared expertise to advance SAMS’ mission in Syria and beyond.

Purpose

Assemblies provide a collaborative space for peer-to-peer engagement across various medical specialties and sub-specialties. Members contribute their scientific knowledge and professional experience to strengthen SAMS’ initiatives.

Key areas of involvement include:

Medical Education:

Designing and delivering educational programs based on approved curricula and scientific best practices. Activities include lectures, workshops, short-term training, and continuing education courses tailored to healthcare professionals.

Medical Missions:

Participating in structured, short-term missions aimed at capacity building and delivering specialized medical services at healthcare facilities in Syria.

Project Development & Fundraising:

Proposing project ideas, advising on their design, and leading fundraising efforts for initiatives implemented by SAMS teams on the ground.

Technical Assistance:

Providing ongoing support through quality assurance, remote supervision, and mentorship for healthcare providers in Syria.

In-Kind Donations & Financial Support:

Contributing to the procurement and distribution of essential medical supplies and equipment for facilities in Syria.

Assemblies offer a structured way for SAMS members to actively contribute to program development and implementation. Through their Assembly, members can offer expert guidance, participate in medical education efforts via the SAMS Institute in Syria, help organize missions, and co-develop and support critical initiatives.
