Dr. Mayssoun Alhariri is a medical professional originally from Syria. She graduated from Damascus University’s School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. She currently practices at Kaiser Permanente in the Bay Area, CA, specializing in primary care. In addition to her medical career, Dr. Mayssoun has a passion for music and literature. She enjoys exercising, particularly running and hiking.
Dr. Mayssoun has made significant contributions to SAMS, joining SAMS in February 2014 and participating in medical relief missions in Turkey in 2014 and Jordan in 2023. She served as the chair of the SAMS membership committee from 2015 to 2017 and established and led the SAMS national student chapter from 2016 to 2019.

Dr. Mayssoun also held positions on the SAMS Board, serving as the secretary from July 2017 to July 2019 and as vice president from July 2019 to July 2021. She chaired the SAMS international conference in Berlin in June 2019, which was held as a satellite event of the World Health Summit in collaboration with the Charite School of Medicine. From July 2019 to January 2021, Dr. Mayssoun was a SAMS research committee member.
Dr. Mayssoun’s commitment to humanitarian efforts is exemplified through her significant and diverse contributions to SAMS.
